What is your alcohol policy?
Yes! You’re welcome to provide your own alcohol (no corkage fee 🎉) and have it served by a licensed Washington State bartender, or they can provide it for you if you prefer. All drinks must stay within designated reception areas and be enjoyed during your rental time. If you’d like an open bar with hard liquor, we simply require licensed security to keep things safe for everyone.
Can we host our rehearsal dinner at Oakshire?
Yes—absolutely! Rehearsal dinners are a separate rental, so you’ll just need an additional contract and fee. Many couples love the convenience of celebrating both events here.
Do you require a planner or coordinator?
Yes, and here’s why: we want your day to be stress-free! A professional, insured coordinator ensures that everything runs smoothly from setup to cleanup, so you and your family can relax and enjoy every moment.
Yes—this is standard at luxury venues, and it protects you, your guests, and your investment. We ask for event liability insurance and cancellation coverage. To make it easy, we recommend Event Guard, which meets all requirements and automatically sends us your proof of coverage.
Do we need event insurance?
Yes! Candles are beautiful and allowed in glass containers with low flames. We’ll work with you to approve anything larger so everything stays safe and elegant.
Can we have candles?
Sometimes, yes! These need prior approval, but we’re happy to discuss options for a sparkling send-off.
Can we use sparklers or fireworks?
Yes—you’re welcome to! We also have a curated list of recommended vendors who know our property well, but you’re free to bring your favorites as long as they’re licensed and insured.
Can we bring our own vendors?
For safety reasons, the pool isn’t available during events—but the grounds, gardens, and estate spaces provide plenty of stunning backdrops for photos and gatherings.
Can we use the pool?
Yes, children are welcome! We just ask that they’re always supervised for safety. We even have a play structure they can enjoy during daylight hours as long as they are supervised. Many couples choose to provide fun activities or childcare so kids can have as much fun as the adults.
What about children at the estate?
We love pets, but for their safety (and ours), personal pets aren’t allowed at events. Certified service dogs are welcome with proper documentation and must remain leashed.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes! Music adds so much joy to your day. We simply ask that DJs and bands keep sound within local volume limits (70 decibels at 20 feet) so everyone has a great experience.
Can we have a DJ or live music?
Smoking is allowed in designated outdoor areas. Cigarettes and vaping are welcome there, but smoking marijuana is not allowed on the grounds
