It all started when…

Russ was just a boy when he first dreamt up Oakshire Estate & Airfield, he had a detailed plan for the estate that he wanted to build one day.  Years later, in the late 1980s, Russ got a call about some land for sale in West Yakima Valley. He and Cate decided to go check it out and immediately fell in love with the property and all the potential that it had to become the estate that they dreamt about. During their first trip out to the property, they had a picnic by the creek that runs along the property, there is a sign by the creek that makes the location of the 1st lunch that they shared on the property.  After they bought the land they put a mobile home on the property and moved in.  At the time the property was mostly sagebrush with an occasional oak tree and cottonwood trees lining Ahtanum Creek. Soon after purchasing the land they began starting the landscaping, building fences, and planting trees - they planted the trees along the driveway in 1991, the same year they had their first son.  They put in the airfield because Russ is a pilot himself and they have enjoyed seeing other families and companies be able to make use of the airfield as well. They built their home in 2000 and since then, Oakshire has become such a treasure to the Wilkinson family. They have enjoyed sharing the estate with family and friends over the years.  Three of Russ and Cate’s children have been married at the estate along with countless other weddings, fundraiser events, auctions, corporate retreats, and other events throughout the years.  The Wilkinson’s are excited to open up their estate and welcome more people to experience the magic that is Oakshire Estate & Airfield.

Paige Wilkinson

Paige has been in the wedding industry since 2013 and has had the opportunity to work with venues all around the USA. She is also a huge believer in marriage and that it has the potential to be the biggest blessing of one’s life, as it has been for her. She loves working with people and especially loves helping brides and grooms make their wedding dreams come true. Her commitment is to go above and beyond to make every wedding an incredible and not-soon-forgotten celebration as well as the best beginning of marriage possible.

Kennedy Wilkinson

While Kennedy has worked several years as a photographer in the wedding industry, she has found her joy in behind the scenes and the design side of weddings. She believes that marriage is the best decision someone could ever make (as it has been for her!), and is dedicated to make every bride and groom’s dream of their big day become a fairytale reality.
